  • Fine motor: Holding a pencil, using scissors
  • Gross motor: running, jumping climbing and special awareness
  • Why it matters: Strong motor skills help children participation in classroom activities, art projects and playground play safely

Language and Cognitive Skills

  • Vocabulary growth, letter and number recognition, patterns and shapes
  • Listening and following multi-step instructions, problem solving
  • Why it matters: These skills underpin early literacy and math, they help children understand instructions and how to express their express needs.

Social-Emotional Development

  • Ability to take turns, share and play cooperatively
  • Managing emotions like expressing frustration with words rather than tantrums.
  • Why it matters: Positive peer relationship and self-regulation set the stage for a supportive learning environment.

Self-help and Independence
